Buying

  • How do I find what I am looking for?

Use the search bar at the top of any page, or pick a market — Goods, Vehicles, Real estate or the Syria Directory — and narrow down by category. Set your governorate with the location control and every result grid stays scoped there until you change it. You can filter by price, condition and the attributes that matter for the category you are in.

  • How do I contact a seller?

Open the listing and tap the green WhatsApp button. It opens WhatsApp with the seller's number and a message that already names the listing, so you do not have to explain which item you mean. The conversation happens entirely in WhatsApp — Bayzo is not in it and cannot read it. You need an account to contact a seller; that is what stops sellers being spammed by throwaway visitors.

    Browse listings
  • The seller is not replying. What now?

Give it a day — most sellers are individuals, not shops with someone on the phone. Check that your message actually sent in WhatsApp. If the number is unreachable or the account looks abandoned, report the listing so we can check whether it is still real; that helps the next buyer even when it cannot help you. Bayzo cannot make a seller answer and cannot pass a message on for you.

  • Is the price real?

The price is what the seller typed, and it can be out of date. Always confirm it in the chat before you travel. If a listing shows a second currency, that is an indicative conversion at a rate we refresh periodically — it is not a quote and nobody is obliged to honour it. A price far below the market is the single most reliable sign of a scam.

  • Does Bayzo deliver, or hold my money?

No. Bayzo takes no payment, holds no funds, runs no escrow and arranges no shipping. You agree everything directly with the seller, including how you pay and how you take delivery. This is deliberate — it is what lets the platform stay free — but it does mean nobody is standing behind the deal, so read the safety guide before you pay anyone.

  • Can I save a listing for later?

Yes. Tap the bookmark on any listing card or detail page and it appears under Saved in your account. Saved listings survive across devices once you are signed in, and you will see it if the seller changes the price.

Selling

  • How do I post a listing?

Tap the post button in the bottom bar, then work through six short steps: market, category, details, price, photos, and a review before it goes live. You can leave and come back — the step you were on is in the address bar. Your listing is checked against our policies after it publishes, not before, so it appears immediately.

    Post a listing
  • Why can't I publish? It says my storefront is incomplete.

Publishing needs a finished storefront, because a listing with no shop behind it is the shape most fraudulent listings take. Six things are required: a banner, a logo, your business name, your city, an 'about' of at least twenty characters, and your opening hours. Fill them in once under Account, Profile and every future listing publishes without the prompt.

  • What are the rules about photos?

Photograph the actual item you are selling. Do not take pictures from another listing, another website, or a manufacturer's catalogue — that is a copyright infringement and it is also the strongest single signal of a listing with nothing behind it, so we remove those listings and suspend repeat offenders. Daylight, a plain background, and one photo of any damage will get you more replies than a catalogue image ever will.

  • My listing was removed. Why?

You will have been told which part of the Acceptable Use Policy it engaged. The usual causes are a prohibited item, photos taken from somewhere else, a category or city that does not match the item, contact details in the description, or the same item posted several times. Every removal can be appealed, and an appeal is read by a person who did not make the original decision.

  • How long does a listing stay up?

A listing stays live until it expires, you withdraw it, or it is removed for a policy breach. You will be reminded before it expires and can renew it in a tap. Withdraw a listing as soon as the item is gone — a stale listing costs you messages you do not want and costs buyers a wasted trip.

  • What does it cost to sell?

Nothing. Publishing listings, having a storefront, being found in search and receiving contacts are all free, and we take no commission on anything you sell. The only thing you can pay for is a promoted placement, which is optional and always labelled as paid where it appears.

  • How do I know if anyone is interested?

Your dashboard shows how many people opened each listing and how many tapped the contact button. The messages themselves arrive in WhatsApp, not on Bayzo — we can tell you that someone contacted you, but the conversation is yours and we never see it.

Staying safe

  • What scams should I watch for?

A price far below the market. A seller who will not meet, will not send an extra photo of a specific detail you ask for, or will not answer a simple question about the item. A demand for a deposit or a full transfer before you have seen anything. A story that creates urgency — travelling tomorrow, another buyer waiting. A request to move the conversation to another app. Someone claiming to be a shipping company or an escrow service; there is no such service on Bayzo.

  • What will Bayzo never ask me for?

We will never ask you for a verification code, a password, or a payment — not in a WhatsApp chat, not by phone, not by email. If someone asks for your code, they are trying to take your account. Our only WhatsApp contact with you is the verification exchange you start yourself. We never call to ask you to confirm anything.

  • How do I report a listing or a user?

Every listing and every professional profile has a report control. Use it — the report arrives attached to the thing it is about, which is why it is the fastest route. Pick the closest reason and add a sentence about what you saw. For anything urgent — a threat, a weapon, a scam in progress, anything involving a child — email the safety address directly and it is triaged the same day.

    Read the safety guide
  • What happens after I report something?

It enters the moderation queue. Automated signals can hide a listing immediately; a person reviews it after that. Clear breaches are removed and the seller is told which rule they broke. We do not tell you the outcome of a report about someone else's listing, because that would leak another user's enforcement history — but the listing disappearing is the answer.

  • I was scammed. Can Bayzo get my money back?

No, and it is important to be straight about that. The money never passed through Bayzo, so there is nothing for us to reverse, and we hold no record of what you agreed. What we can do is act on the account: report it and we will investigate and, where it is warranted, remove the listings and ban the user, which protects the next person. Report it to the police as well — we cooperate with lawful requests for the account data we do hold.

  • How should I meet a seller?

Meet in a busy public place in daylight, and tell someone where you are going. Take a friend for anything expensive. Inspect the item before any money changes hands, and for a phone or a laptop check it powers on and is not locked to another account. For a vehicle, see the papers and check the numbers on the vehicle against them. For a property, never pay a deposit before you have seen it and seen proof of ownership. If anything feels wrong, walk away — a genuine seller will still be there tomorrow.

Your account

  • How do I create an account?

With your phone number. Enter it, then send the short code we show you from your own WhatsApp to the Bayzo number. That message proves the number is yours, and you are in. There is no password to invent and none to forget — which also means there is no password database of ours that could ever be stolen.

  • Verification is not working.

Check that you are sending the code from the same number you typed in, and that you are sending it to the Bayzo number shown on the screen rather than replying to something else. The code is short-lived, so if you waited a while, request a new one. If it still fails, your number may be blocked from WhatsApp business messages — write to support with the number and we will look.

  • Can I change my phone number?

Yes, from Account, Profile. You verify the new number the same way you verified the first one, and your listings, saved items and history move with you. Change it before you lose access to the old number — with no password, the number is how you get back in.

  • How do I turn on two-factor authentication?

Under Account, Profile. Once it is on, signing in asks for a six-digit code from your authenticator app in addition to your phone verification. Turn it on if you sell regularly — a seller account with a good reputation is worth stealing.

  • How do I delete my account?

From Account, Profile, or from the deletion page on the web if you have already removed the app. Deleting withdraws your listings and removes your profile and saved items. A small number of records are kept where the law requires it or to prevent a banned user re-registering; the deletion page lists exactly what and for how long.

    Delete my account
  • My account was suspended. What can I do?

The notice you received says which policy was engaged and how to contest it. Appeals are read by someone other than whoever made the original decision, so it is worth writing a real explanation rather than a one-line protest. If you no longer have the notice, write to support with your Bayzo ID.

About Bayzo

  • What is Bayzo, exactly?

A marketplace for Syria that helps a buyer find a seller and then hands the conversation to WhatsApp. We host and organise listings; we do not sell anything ourselves, take payment, hold stock, or stand between the two parties. Think of it as the noticeboard and the index, not the shop.

  • What can I find on Bayzo?

Four markets. Goods covers everything from phones to furniture, new and used together with condition as a filter. Vehicles covers cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles. Real estate covers property for sale and for rent. The Syria Directory is different in kind — it lists professionals and businesses by trade rather than items for sale.

  • What does the verified badge mean?

That the person controls the phone number on the account, because they sent us a code from it. A business badge additionally means we have seen the storefront details they gave us. Neither is an endorsement: we have not inspected any goods, audited any business, or formed a view about whether a seller is honest. Read a badge as 'this number is theirs' and nothing more.

  • Is there an app?

Yes. Install it from Google Play, or add Bayzo to your home screen straight from the browser — the site is a full app either way and works on a slow connection. Installing it lets you receive notifications about your listings and makes the app open without the browser chrome.

  • Will Bayzo use a lot of my data?

It is built not to. Pages are served ready-made rather than assembled in your browser, images are resized to the size your screen actually needs, and the app caches what it can so a second visit costs almost nothing. It is designed and measured on a 3G connection, because that is what most of Syria is on.

  • Can I advertise on Bayzo?

Yes. Paid placements are available on the browse and detail surfaces, and every one of them is labelled as paid where it appears. Paying never changes how a listing is moderated. See the advertising page for the placements and prices, or write to the partnerships address.

Still stuck?

Write to us and a person will read it. Include your Bayzo ID and a link to the listing if there is one — it saves a round trip.
